These answers explain practical planning and coordination for a senior transition. Our coordination service is at no cost to your family. Independent providers may charge separately for their own services; coverage, scheduling, and responsibilities are confirmed before engagement. A website inquiry does not confirm availability or create an agreement.

Timing and immediate priorities
Can you help if a move needs to happen soon?
Possibly, depending on location, schedule, and the practical tasks requested. Share the general timing and what remains. Coverage and availability must be checked before a scope or date is agreed. If outside movers or other providers are needed, confirm their availability and terms directly.
Can family members coordinate from another city?
If you are helping from another city, coordination and communication can be discussed as part of a proposed scope. Identify who can make household decisions, who should receive updates, and what can be handled remotely. Do not submit sensitive medical details through the website form.
Care transitions and belongings
Can you help when living arrangements or care levels change?
We can discuss household and move logistics around a transition. Qualified care professionals, the older adult, and authorized decision-makers determine care needs, placement, and medical instructions. DFW Senior Transition does not provide clinical advice or decide which care setting is appropriate. See Moving Between Levels of Care.
Can you help sort belongings or plan downsizing?
Tasks we can coordinate may include a sorting sequence, decisions about what moves, and handoffs to independent movers, donation, removal, or disposal providers. The older adult and authorized decision-makers direct decisions about belongings. Provider availability, eligibility, terms, and charges must be checked with each provider. See Senior Downsizing & Move Coordination.
Can you arrange furniture removal, donations, or a cleanout?
Those tasks may be included if they fit an agreed scope and coverage is confirmed. Separate providers perform removal, donation, and disposal services and set their own rules and charges. Municipal collection programs may have eligibility limits and may not accept contractor- or business-generated waste. Check current local rules directly. See Furniture & House Cleanout Help.
Home decisions
Does a move or cleanout require selling the home?
No. A family can discuss planning, a move, downsizing, or cleanout without home-sale assistance. Keeping, renting, transferring, or selling a home is a separate decision for the owner and authorized decision-makers.
Can we use our own real-estate agent?
Yes. A family may choose its own agent. Any proposed home-sale assistance should identify what is coordination versus real-estate work. Listing, marketing, negotiation, and transaction services are handled by the real-estate professional chosen by the family. See Help Selling a Parent’s Home.
Scope, fees, consent, and privacy
Who performs the work and which providers are involved?
The proposed written scope should identify work performed directly, tasks coordinated with independent providers, and responsibilities retained by family members or other professionals. Provider engagement is not assumed. The provider, service, terms, and known charges should be explained before the family decides whether to proceed.
How are fees and possible referral compensation handled?
Our coordination service is at no cost to your family. Independent movers, cleanout providers, licensed real-estate professionals, and other outside providers may charge separately for their own services. Any referral or real-estate compensation, if applicable, will be disclosed before engagement. Read Fees & How We Are Paid.
How are consent and personal information handled?
Household decisions should follow the older adult’s preferences and the authority of the people involved. Agree who may approve the scope and receive updates. Share only information needed for the practical coordination and authorized for disclosure. Do not include sensitive medical information in the website form; medical instructions remain with care professionals.
